Galerie LUCIA NOVALIS is verheugd te kunnen aankondigen begin oktober deel te nemen aan ART The Hague, de eigenzinnige beurs voor hedendaagse kunst! De kunstbeurs die het internationale karakter van Den Haag toont, rondleidingen en tentoonstellingen organiseert, kunstliefhebbers en het bedrijfsleven betrekt bij hedendaagse kunst. ‘Nieuwsgierigheid’ is dit jaar het thema. Openstaan voor andere culturen, benieuwd zijn naar nieuwe zintuigelijke ervaringen. Zonder nieuwsgierigheid geen creativiteit en innovatie. Galerie LUCIA NOVALIS heeft een 3-tal kunstenaars geselecteerd voor een GROEPSEXPOSITIE met kleurrijke, zinnenprikkelende werken. Met werk van JURJEN VAN HOUWELINGEN, CARLOS SILVA en ERICA WELLING (voor meer info, zie hieronder). Graag tot in oktober!!
Gallery LUCIA NOVALIS is pleased to announce that at the beginning of October it will participate in ART The Hague, the idiosyncratic fair for contemporary art! The art fair that shows the international character of The Hague, organizes tours and exhibitions, and involves art lovers and the business community in contemporary art. ‘Curiosity‘ is this year’s theme. Een nieuwe kunstenaar in ons team! Jurjen is kunstenaar en motivational speaker en gebruikt veel contrastrijke kleuren. Hij is het lichtend voorbeeld dat kunst van levensbelang is!! Sinds zijn visuele beperking door een niet aangeboren hersenletsel (herseninfarct) in 2017 kan hij alleen grote contrasten waarnemen. Zijn tegenslag heeft hij omgezet in abstracte kunst waarin sterke contrasten een grote rol spelen. Net zoals dat vaak in het gewone leven ook het geval is. Hierdoor kenmerken zijn werken zich door het vele kleurgebruik waarin hij probeert vreugde en schoonheid op te zoeken. Zijn boek ‘ Als je het even niet meer ziet, lessen voor een veerkrachtig leven’ komt in het najaar uit. Pre-order boek
A new artist in our team! Jurjen is an artist and motivational speaker and uses many high-contrast colors. He is a shining example that art is of vital importance!! Since his visual impairment due to an acquired brain injury (cerebral infarction) in 2017, he can only perceive large contrasts. He converted his setback into abstract art in which strong contrasts play a major role. Just as is often the case in normal life. As a result, his works are characterized by the extensive use of color in which he tries to find joy and beauty. CARLOS SILVA
De van oorsprong Colombiaanse kunstenaar Carlos Silva woont en werkt sinds 1999 in Berlijn. Hij gebruikt veel levendige kleuren in zijn werk, waarbij elke tint ook zorgvuldig wordt gekozen en in de compositie wordt geplaatst. Zijn werk is gericht op het ‘oog van het menselijk lichaam’ door een niet-representatieve, maar geordende combinatie van kleur en vorm. Elke penseelstreek heeft een gecontroleerde precisie, evenals de vloeiendheid van de lijn en de spontaniteit van de pols.
The Colombian artist Carlos Silva is based since 1999 in Berlin. He uses a lot of vibrant colors in his work, with each hue also carefully chosen and placed in the composition. His work is directed at the ‘human body’s eye’ through a non-representational, but ordered, combination of colour and form. Each brush stroke has a controlled precision, as does the smoothness of the line and the spontaneity of the pulse.

ERICA WELLING | MR-ONTWERP
Is afgestudeerd aan de Academie voor Kunst en Vormgeving (ArtEZ) in Arnhem. Haar werk bestaat voornamelijk uit fotografie(techniek). Ze onderzoekt het afwijkende, anders zien, authenticiteit, intensiteit en heeft een passie voor licht, kleur en grafische elementen en vormen. Op zoek naar ‘het voelen van het zien’. Omdat Goethe het al zei: ‘licht, duisternis en kleur samen zijn het enige dat het ene object voor het oog van het andere onderscheidt en de delen van het object van elkaar onderscheidt’. Erica is aanwezig om een toelichting te geven op de werken!
Is graduated from the Academy of Art and Design (ArtEZ) in Arnhem. Her work mainly consists of photography (technique). She investigates the deviant, seeing differently, authenticity, intensity and has a passion for light, color and graphic elements and shapes. In search of ’the feeling of seeing’. Because Goethe said it: ‘light, darkness and color together are the only thing that distinguishes one object from another to the eye and distinguishes the parts of the object from each other’. Erica is present to provide an explanation of the works!
